i5-4570 vs fx 8100

4570 is certainly better for gaming. would be better off with a fx6300 than an fx8100. and of the first gen fx cpu's are poor for gaming. an even bigger problem than that is the 8100 system has a piss poor gpu for gaming, and a 350w psu so you cant upgrade anything without upgrading the psu. IMO its worth every penny to get the i5 system because it has a far better graphics card.

That's why its a budget gaming pc. A buddy of mine has the 7570 gpu. It gets the job done. My other buddy can't afford anything really expensive. What do you expect?

you asked if it was worth it to get the more expensive i5 build, i gave you my opinion. if your mate doesn't have enough money then why ask?
