Hi all,

so i got a:

http://www.kingston.com/us/memory/search/?partid=KHX1600C9D3X2K2/4GX
( http://www.valueram.com/datasheets/khx1600c9d3x2k2_4gx.pdf )

installed in a gigabyte GA-970A-UD3P with fx-6350 cpu

(so far no oc since i've yet to get a aftermarket cooler, and the stock one only copes well with a open case and a case fan directed towards it)

Since it's hyperx can i push it a little? - should it cope with 1866 and cl9 or similar timings?
i have no experience with amd and ram overclocking in general... only in core2duo days

i set it to x.m.p profile 1 in bios and that's that ... but if i keep it active and increase multiplier
i get 1866 cl11 ...

tried manual timings with 1866 9-9-9-27 and system failed to boot,
(im guessing a voltage issue)

Can Anyone Recommend Settings To Try?

i only got this as a budget option since i had to assemble the rig quick and on a tiny budget,
will swap to a faster 8 gig kit later....

thanks in advance

These aren't really geared towards OCing, they're entry level 1600/9 sticks but already rated at 1.65 - most decent 1600/9 sets are 1.5 (about 85% of them) - to OC you normally need to add a little DRAM voltage (about (+ 0.05 or more on AMD) - AMD has weak MC (memory controller)s compared to Intel and don't OC DRAM well

yeah... i managed to tighten the timings a bit on 1600mhz by setting 1.7v but looks like there's no point for the tiny tiny performance gain,
numbers some people achieve on some online reviews with sandy bridge cpu's show up as unstable on prime95 and intelburntest
ill focus on the cpu when i get a proper cooler...
