First of all I need to say that I am new to the world of PC hardware but I'm slowly learning more and more.

anyway

I recently inherited an older PC and would like to slowly upgrade it paycheck to paycheck. What I need from you guys is suggestions on what to upgrade first, as well as what specific products to upgrade to.

here is a text document saved from the DxDiag tool, it should have all of my hardware components:

Like I said it's an older computer but I'd like to start upgrading now, starting with the worst bottle necks first.

Thanks,
Scott

That PC is just to old I would not though even one cent at it. The way those cases were made in 07 make it so you can't even put a standard ATX motherboard in it because there is no removable IO Shield from what I remember you can't even use a standard ATX PSU in them either. It is a socket 775 so I dought you will find a faster CPU for it and any good GPU would just bottleneck that CPU bad. Plus if you can't put a standard ATX PSU in it you would not have the power to run a good GPU anyway. All in all the best bet would be to start over. Get parts as you can or save up and get them all at once. But do not though any money into that rig it is just to old.

Thanks for the reply!

You're right, the body is abnormally small. It's unfortunate to hear that there's so little I can do, is there nothing worth keeping? at least to start my new build?
