Hi, I was wondering if you guys think Gigabyte has dropped support for the v1.0 and v1.1 of the UD3 motherboard. The last BIOS was from 2013/01/24, and it was a beta BIOS. I am wondering because IF Steamroller comes to AM3+, I might need a new motherboard? I just got a 8320 from Newegg, great deal right now $130 + Farcry 3.

Solution
IF Steamroller comes out to AM3+ then Gigabyte will update to a newer BIOS version. They just don't drop support like that , and AMD will of course see to it that they do....

Rev 3.0/4.0 support 220W CPU's like FX-9590 and FX-9370 whereas Rev1.1 only supports CPU's up to 125W like FX-8350. You can see this if you check the respective CPU support lists on Gigabyte's website. Articles quoting AMD's roadmap to 2015 say that FX will stick with Vishera. But I wouldn't say support is dropped for v1.1; v3.0 BIOS hasn't been updated since Feb 2013. If there's nothing to fix . . . .
