Hello, I currently have an Intel core 2 duo e 4500 with 2gb ram. My motherboard is a dg 945t which is two months old. I have a 1tb hdd and hd 5770 similar to the hd 6700. My computer started giving me some problem. Hence changed my mobo still I have problem. Suggest me a gaming build. I have a corsair cx 430. Can it hold or I need to change that also. Do I also need to change my cabinet? Please help. My budget Is around 15k in India.

I don't understand why people just look at processor and ignore other components especially in a gaming build.
At 3-4K u won't get a mobo with USB 3.0. USB 3.0 is so common nowadays. Even a non-techie can feel the difference between USB 3.0 and USB 2.0 speeds. Other feature is SATA III. Although not much useful for HDDs but it's a necessity for SSDs. There's a little overclocking feature in this mobo also but not recommended to overclock on this mobo

A good cabinet will cost atleast 2.5K

The GPU is the primary concern in a gaming build. Everything changes with the GPU. The 5770 is way underpowered for a CPU like FX 6300. The recommended option is a GTX 760 that cost 20K. GPU alone exceeds your budget

Here is an example budget...

Varun : I am looking for an AMD build so I feel the three components can come withing 15k. If my psu and my cabinet is not going to work with the new build then I'd definitely raise my budget.

Chimera : my problem was that I was using my computer, got some memory or some kind of error then my computer stopped. I tried restarting but only the fan n led were working but no display to the monitor. After a through check and stuff I found out that the mobo failed. Hence got the dg965t which was compatible with my core two duo. Now again my computer stopped working but I checked my ram.. But found my ram was working hence gave the mobo for warranty and got it back after testing with their components not mine. After assembling it the fans stayed for like 3 sec then off. I had not connected the 4 pin connector between the power supply unit and mobo. After connecting that now my computer fans rotate for a split second and turn off. And in can't try again till a min or so passes. Got fed up. But still my processor is working did the heat test. My power supply seems to be working did the pin test. Ram also is working. What can be the problem. I really don't want to invest much because I might be forced to switch to a laptop after college. Work n stuff. Hopefully!!

Isn't the AMD fx 6300 better than the i3 for
Gaming purposes. will the power supply support this build. N my cabinet has only one fan. Is it advisable to change my cabinet as well.

The i3-3210 is on par with FX 6300 in gaming. In productivity though the FX 6300 definitely beats the i3.

i3-3210 is close to i3-3220 and FX-6300 is close to FX-6350 a bit more less in performance though

When it comes to games this is what u should be looking at

PSU is a good model. Don't replace it unless something is wrong with it. Your system should not be generating that much heat for a cabinet reconsideration.

FX 6300 costs a little higher and a AM3+ mobo with the same set of features costs higher and it will exceed 15K

Could you please suggest me the fx 6300 build. I guess the difference in would be 500 odd rupees.
And what about the heat issue of the AMD processor. Is it a thing. How cabinet is pretty old class. Not at all a fancy cabinet. Just one big led fan.

One last question. What's the use of having a USB 3.0 port when I have a cabinet which doesn't support 3.0?
A slightly off topic doubt I have. If a laptop and a desktop have the same exact configuration still will the desktop perform better in practical terms. On paper both might be same but what about the actual usage. Or people say a laptop is not as powerful as the desktop is because of less options for a Gpu?
