Radeon R9 290x compatible?

After looking at my setup I've decided i want to to upgrade my GPU to a Radeon R9 290x, this is a massive increase from my current setup and just wanted to know if everything would be compatible, im mostly concerned about my motherboard but all information would be helpful.

my current setup is:
Motherboard - ASROCK 970DE3/E3S3
Power supply - Corsair CX600M
CPU - AMD FX-8350
GPU - Saphire HD6850
RAM - 8GB

There is no reason that the card won't fit the motherboard. Sounds like you are good to go.

Your power supply is running close though. I'd expect that 550W would be enough but just be wary about adding too much more to it.

After this upgrade the next will be my PSU but i was just concerned at the fact that the R9 290x is PCIe Gen 3.0 but my motherboard is PCIe Gen 2.0?
