Hello all,
This is my first post in the Tom's hardware community and so I would just like to say thank you for all the help this community has given me in the past and that this is actually the reason I decided to join.
Now to the issue at hand:
I am looking to get a 3 monitor Eyefinity setup to really push the power of my GPUs (2 MSI R7970 OC). I have finally narrowed down a specific monitor I want, which would be this: http://
However, as per the limitations of Eyefinity, I realize that you need any combination of DVI, VGA, or HDMI for the first two monitors and each subsequent monitor requires a display port. Now my graphics card comes with 1 DVI-D port, 1 HDMI port, and 2 mini Display ports. The monitor linked above comes with 2 HDMI ports and 1 VGA port. Would I be able to hook up one monitor with a DVI to HDMI cable, the second monitor with a straight HDMI cable, and the last monitor with an active mini display port to DVI adapter and then another DVI to HDMI cable? Would these connections work and is this the only viable system of connections there is for these types of ports? I would like to stay away form VGA if possible. Thank you for your answers in advance.
