Hi, I sold a Graphics card on ebay and 8 days later he tells me there is a problem with it. This is the message he sent me.

Hi
I've been having issues with the graphics card since I installed it.
It will not post after the computer has been left turned off for a day and I have to open the case and reseat the card which after a few attempts then posts and will run fine after that without issue until the next day when I after go through it all again. It did post one day with out intervention but then reverted back the following day.
I have just removed a HD 5870 & gtx570 without issue and have now fitted my old 8800 gtx card which works without issue so I know the fault lies with the graphics card.
I wish to return it for you to try
Thanks.

I know that the graphics was working 100% before shipping, I am just wondering if anyone knows if I am still obliged to offer him a refund.

Cheers.

PSU...... But no the damage is done and it would be his fault if it was working when you shipped it. It might be damaged and not work again, but sometimes when i move my box around tings stop working right and a couple of restarts does the trick. Maybe thats what happened? But no refunds. If it worked when you got rid of it then he did the damge.

I've done this, he says
Hi
The PSU is a 600 watt with seperate 6 and 8 pin feeds,
Once the card posts it runs perfectly on every game.
It's strange having to keep reseating it until will post .

It sounds to me like the graphics is still working.

Some times when you move a pc/ pc part it dosnet work right... Tell him to give it a week and if it dosent work then that he can send in for repair or buy a new one because like i said if it worked when you sold it then he broke it and you shouldnt get him a new one.

Did anyone think to ask him if he has properly seated the GPU?
Just saying.

Tell him to leave his case open and see if the fan spinning up is unseating the GPU, a bad lock on the slot has allowed this to happen to a few customers of mine... More times than I'd like to admit.

Thanks for the answers guys, from what he's told me tonight it seems like it isn't sitting in the PCI slot properly. I'm not sure if this down to the buyer not installing it properly or what, but he now seems to understand that problem most likely doesn't lie with the graphics card.
