First of all thanks for taking the time to read this. It's been awhile since I've built a computer and I'm looking for suggestions for a decent gaming system for my son. He is interested in building a system with me and we have a budget of $800. He lives with me part of the year so this system has to be somewhat portable and airline friendly. I'm thinking a mini ATX would be the right size but don't know if there would be a performance hit going that small. He would like to play BF 4 on ultra settings with his friends. Given our budget I don't think that is realistic but hope this forum can prove me wrong.
Approximate Purchase Date: Before x-mas
Budget Range: (e.g.: 300-400) Max $800
System Usage from Most to Least Important: gaming and school work
Are you buying a monitor: No we have one already
Parts to Upgrade: N/A - new build
Do you need to buy OS: Yes - would like windows 7 64
Preferred Website(s) for Parts: None
Location: City, State/Region, Country - Houston,TX
Parts Preferences: None
Overclocking: Maybe but probably no
SLI or Crossfire: Maybe
Your Monitor Resolution: 1600x1200
Additional Comments: I'm looking for suggestions on a new system with a max budget of $800 in a Mini or Micro ATX case. The smaller the case the better as it will travel periodically through the year. If possible I'd prefer 8GB ram.
And Most Importantly, Why Are You Upgrading: N/A
