Will there be a noticeable difference with a 144Hz monitor? compared to 60 Hz

Average gamer (same as casual of course) won't notice the difference that is more than 60 Hz, according to NCIX Tech Tips, but Linus (seasoned 120Hz veteran) could definitely tell the difference. So if you are not a hardcore gamer and got used to more than 60hz, you probably won't notice the difference. If average (or casual) can't tell the difference between 60 Hz and 120 Hz, it obviously won't notice the 144Hz.

alright, I play games everyday. and I have been doing that for about 4 or 5 years? maybe. I don't know. So I am used to 60.

High refresh rate is quite noticeable when playing, but far harder to tell when you are only watching. You also need high FPS to fully take advantage of the high refresh rate. The biggest thing I notice with 120hz vs 60hz, is with the FPS to match, a games view feels like it is connected to my mouse, rather than feeling a tiny bit of lag, it is smooth. For myself, personally, I used to get sick playing FPS games until I upgraded, and got my FPS over 80 (similar to motion sickness).

Last, the difference between 144hz and 120hz with Lightboost is supposed to be bigger than the difference between 60hz and 144hz. Lightboost removes motion blur, so you see all the images clearly, rather than blurry motion. http://www.blurbusters.com/zero-motion-blur/lightboost/

Like bystander said, it also must have more FPS to take advantage of the refresh rate, so it also depends on FPS. If you can't go past 80 FPS, probably you won't notice the difference between 60Hz and 120Hz monitor, and of course 144Hz.

I have the GTX690 so I guess the FPS wont be a problem.
