I recently purchased this card:

Newegg - Powercolor AX 7950

I didn't realize before I bought, but it only has 2 mini DPs and my monitor has a DP. Is it just as simple as finding a cord like this:

Mini DP to DP cable

Or am I missing something important to make it work properly? If it's going to be too costly, I may just try to send it back and opt for something that has a straight DP connection, though I did love this price of this one.

Question about PSU, I have a 430w currently, so would it be wise to simply just get something right at 500w or would it be wise to go a little higher like 550 or 600? I just want it for gaming and I just have the one card and monitor. I have an i7-4770, if it matters.

I have the same card in an HTPC (low profile) build, it's running fine under 400w, I'd suggest you upgrade to 550w or higher to be safe, I'm just cheap.

Anyways, there is a mini-hdmi adapter that should come in the box, it simply turns a normal HDMI cable into a 1 end M-HDMI, eg: mini goes to GPU, normal HDMI to monitor/TV.

Also, my two cents really quick: Go ebay for cables. You get them soooo much cheaper than in store.

I may be reading this wrong, but my monitor does not have an HDMI connection. These should be my available connections for it:

1 Digital Visual Interface connectors (DVI-D) with HDCP
1 DisplayPort (DP)
1 Video Graphics Array (VGA)
1 USB 2.0 upstream port
4 USB 2.0 downstream ports

So considering this and what comes with the card, it would be possible to connect it to the monitor just fine?

*edit* finally decided to check the actual package contents image (duh). So the mini DP to DP adapter should work with a normal DP cable then, correct?

My apologies, I meant to type mini-dp but have a habit of typing mini-hdmi in it's place. Sorry for that!

Thanks a lot for the help guys, I guess it's off to Ebay to find a decent DP cable and I should be good to go. :)
