View available Wireless Networks are not populating

How can I get my computer on wireless, since it seems that I may have deleted a driver or changed setting somehow. When I go into "Networks Connections" and ask to view available wireless networks, it tells me that "windows cannot configure a wireless connection". My laptop is a Dell E6410 and I am running with "Microsoft Windows XP. Any assistance would be appreciated. Thank you. Angie

  1. Is the wireless adapter turned on with either a switch or often Fn + F2 on Dell?

If you look in the device manager do you see the wireless adapter and does it indicate that it has working drivers?

If I remember correctly, you have to enable the wireless device before you can configure it. If it's already enabled and you're still receiving that error message, I'd try to re-install the driver for your device.

Go Here and change your OS to MS Windows XP.
Expand the Network tree, download and install the Dell W-ifi Driver.

  3. Is the a hardware button or FN+2 you can get the driver from dell site, look in control panel , device manager.
