Will my PSU be sufficient for an upgrade to R9 280x + FX-8350?

Hello everyone! Apologies in advance if this is being posted in the wrong place.

I am currently considering getting the R9 280x (upgrading from a HD 7770 1GB) and I was just trying to figure out if I should look at getting a new power supply as well. I'm currently using a 500W PSU and I've read a lot of mixed opinions about whether a 500W is good enough or not. There are some good deals right now for power supplies but I'd like to avoid getting one if I can. The other part is I'm also considering upgrading my CPU to the FX-8350. I'm not sure how that changes things. I'm pretty much a noob at this stuff. :)

I'm looking to get this card specifically (but open to recommendations):

I can provide any information needed about my current setup. Attached is also a picture of my PSU:

You should get at least 700w good power supply, something like this

Both CPU (8350) and GPU use more than 200w

The 280x will eat about 200-240w on it's own. I would highly suggest you go at least 700w under an 8350. I was running my 8350 at 4.8ghz for awhile with a 290x on a cheap Corsair 750w and ended up having to upgrade my PSU due to it bottleknecking me.

From the picture you give, it does not look like a good brand PSU, and at 500W will not have the power to run the new card and CPU and the rest of your system comfortably (look at the +12V rail - 216 watts). I would get a decent brand 650W - 750W (Corsair, Seasonic, Antec) PSU which will power your rig easily. Never stint on a good PSU - you rig will thank you for it.
