Hey guys, just built a new PC recycling some old parts from my main pc, which i knew worked perfectly fine.

When it boots to windows it BSOD's almost instantly... fair enough... i'll reformat.

... i go to boot from dvd drive and nothing, just keeps loading into bios... i know my dvd drive works cos i testing it on my old rig a mo ago.

also im getting a CPU FAN error @ start up, however my temps are 24 so im 90% sure theyre working! (i definately know theyre plugged in right)

I'm running:

4670K
Maximus VI Hero
1 stick of ram, which is mem checked (for booting purposes)
no gard, 1 HDD nothing else...

p[lease help this is driving me mad.

Sata drive? Your hard drive or optical?
I'd really like to know. I just got new components. Same mobo as you and I get BSOD instantly after windows tries to load.
Been dealing with it for a week now. I know my formatted hard drive worked when I took it out of another case, but I have purchased a new optical drive.
