I want to upgrade my computer and I would like to know how I can tell if certain componets would work or not. For example, if I want to get a AMD FX-8320 Vishera 3.5GHz CPU, how can I tell which MOBO will work with it? what GPU will work with it? Can any RAM go in it? any power supply? Thank you!

use parts picker it warn you of parts that wont work.
for your amd cpu the mb has to be a amd 3+ the ram is ddr-3 1600 speed 1.5-1.65 volts. if you need to 1333 will work as well if you need to cut costs. all new mb and video cards use the same video slots. there all just plug and install the drivers.
for power supplys it the wattage needed for the system. a cpu and good gpu to run a good 650w power supply is used.
some builds can use lower wattage power supply but if you game with the system your better off having a slightly larger power supply then needed.

Ok so I found out that i can see if a CPU is compatible with MOBO by seeing the Socket type. So what if it isn't a "new" MOBO and Video card, how would I be able to tell if it is compatible? Thanks!
