For the longest time I have been pondering whether to build my very own pc for gaming. I want a gaming computer but have just given up on the idea of researching on all the parts, choosing the right ones and putting it all together. So I have been looking at websites like Cyber Power and they are having a black friday sell on many computers. They are charging $895 ( $975 with taxes) for a computer with:

CPU: AMD FX-8320 3.50 GHz Eight-Core AM3+ CPU 8MB L2 Cache & Turbo Core Technology

HDD: 2TB (2TBx1) SATA-III 6.0Gb/s 64MB Cache 7200RPM HDD (Single Drive)

MEMORY: 16GB (8GBx2) DDR3/1866MHz Dual Channel Memory (ADATA XPG V2)

MOTHERBOARD: GIGABYTE 970A-DS3P AMD 970 ATX w/ Ultra Durable 4 Classic, On/Off Charge, GbLAN, 2 PCIe x16, 3 PCIe x1, 2 PCI

VIDEO: AMD Radeon R9 270X 2GB GDDR5 16X PCIe 3.0 Video Card (Major Brand Powered by AMD)

This comes with windows 8.1, but does not come with monitor. Is this a good price? If building it myself will save me around $50 I still would rather have cyber power build it for me.

You have a good list started for a gaming build, go in and talk to the folks at Microcenter, unlike other places they are very knowledgeable and will know what is on the best sale and is also compatible.

Oh I think you misunderstood me. I am asking you if building it myself will save me a low amount like $50. I have no clue to how much I will save building it myself. Is the computer with the parts I listed worth $975 including taxes and an OS?

I live in Orange County in California and about a 10 minute drive from my local Microcenter. How do you recommend I should go about buying my parts? Is microcenter having a black friday sale?

They are having a great sale, I may drive the three hours to Dallas tomorrow and go broke. Take a look HERE for their 54 page online ad, of course there is a lot of other stuff but they have the lowest prices on everything new that I've seen and I build a lot of computers.

I know this is asking a lot but could you make a quick parts list for a mid range gaming computer that would also be great for school things using parts from microcenter? I have no idea how to go about choosing parts and what goes works with what. $600-$700 including OS. Lower than $600 would be fantastic.
