So I've decided to try and build a low end gaming PC. I've a budget of about €250 for the cpu, mobo, ram, and gpu. I'm hoping to get a cpu for €100/£85 and I would like to know which of these would be the best:
New:
AMD Athlon X4 760k Black Edition Quad Core 3.8Ghz £65
AMD FX6300 Black Edition 6 Core 3.5Ghz £85
Intel Core i3 3240 Dual Core 3.40GHz £80

Used:
AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition Quad Core 3.40 Ghz £85
Intel Core i7-920 Quad Core 2.66 GHz £81
Intel Core i5-760 Quad Core 2.80GHz £80
Intel Core i5 650 Quad Core 3.20GHz £70

I would prefer to buy a new one but if the used are much better then I'll get one.
I'll take a look at any other processor that you want me to, I'm all open to suggestions!

If you don't care about power consumption, then FX6300. That's a very good gaming CPU actually.

In the past, everyone would say 965 because it was so common in gaming. However, more recent benchmarks have shown that the FX6300 is superior because of the newer architecture which is actually more important than clock speed or cores.

Anyway, I'd always rather buy new than used, but that's my opinion. You never know how much the last person has pushed the CPU. Given that they're the same price, there's proof that the FX6300 is better and it is new. I wouldn't hesitate given that you're going to be GPU-bottlenecked anyway.
