I want to Crossfire my AMD A10 5800k with my HIS Radeon HD 6670. My question is, do I need two memory sticks installed for this to work? I currently have one 8GB 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 installed. I've read on the the Biostar website (I have a Biostar motherboard) that you need at least two memory sticks for crossfire to work. Is it necessary to buy another 8GB, or buy two 4GB?

My motherboard: BIOSTAR Hi-Fi A85W

website that mentions this: http://www.biostar.com.tw/app/en/support/faq_content.php?S_ID=549

Thanks!

No, you are fine. You may be thinking of dual channel memory needing matching sticks. Right now, your memory is running in single channel mode with only one stick. But if you do buy new memory, look for at least 1866MHZ, because the memory controller on the APU is rated for that speed, and the on-die GPU needs the fastest memory it can use.

Btw, I tried dual graphics mode with my A10-5800K and an HD 6670 DDR3. Not much improvement in any game I tried. But if you try it yourself, be sure to install the AMD Application Profiles along with the beta driver with 'frame pacing' that eliminates micro-stutter.
