so i recently installed a custom water cooling loop into my pc. ran and tested loop for leaks. let everything sit for 48 hours in case there was any drip during installation. now when trying to boot up, it runs for 10 seconds then shuts down, powers back up and does it over and over. took out gpu and ram. boots fine. sits and runs. nothing ever comes on screen. put ram back in. starts boot cycling again. could something have happened to my ram slot? btw ram was uninstalled during loop installation

Is this a brand new build or it was fine until this water cooling setup was installed?
Try 1 stick of ram at a time. Grab a memory from another computer if you have and test that to see if it works.
Check the ram pins and gold contacts on the ram itself for any damages, dust or smudges.

if this is a newer intel rig make sure your not crushing the lid of the cpu. if you are it act like it is now.

it is newer. not sure what you mean by the lid though. my rig is asrock mitx board, i5 3570k, evga gtx 680, 8gb of ballistix ram. so loosen the tension holding down the water block?

yes. the intel cpu now use thermal paste under the intel logo on the cpu chip. the older intels used to be solid solider. with these newer cpu the outside or lid with the right block or large heat sink can deform the lid to where it shorting out the cpu.

by newer in my last post i meant "of this generation". ive been running it for several months. so new water cooling set up. only have one stick of ram. dont have any other ram i can try. but all contacts on the stick and the slot on the mobo look golden like they should

tried loosening the water block to hardly any pressure. just a bit from the springs the hold it down. still does the same thing. would it be dangerous to pull the water block slightly off the cpu so there is no pressure on it and try a boot just to see if it stays on? i still think it might possibly have to do with the ram or motherboard

Was it working before this water cooling setup was installed or is this the very first time booting up?
Remove the CPU and check or any signs of damage pins on the socket.

Check the board carefully for any signs of leak damages from the coolant. If it's possible, remove the water cooling setup. Install the CPU cooler you had before and see if that boots up.

advice from others as well is to tear it all back down and install it all again. starting with the basics and check for boot. then install anything left. i will try that tomorrow

Replaced the mobo. Also bought new ram and tested both old a new sticks. Works just fine after everything was put back together. Apparently I shorted the mobo or something
