You got a couple choices but I suggest designing the system around how you want to use it. Since you are getting a 60Hz monitor then you could either game on that one or plan on adding 2 more cuz you can't game on 2 monitors. Personally, I like gaming on one and using the other for other one for stuff like movies, editing, and monitoring.

Another choice is to get a 120/144Hz monitor. If you have a need for fast fast refreshes then this is the...

These are the new CPU and mobo also open to suggestions for these. I'm totally new to building computers and had the help of a friend who only knows so much.

I'm planning on getting another monitor if my budget allows for it. So would that effect much?

Reasons behind changes.

I dropped some unneeded costs at a few places, RAM/PSU/motherboard.
The price drop allowed me to add a BETTER graphics card AND a 250GB SSD.

Now if in the case you do not want to SLI on a later stage, then 850W power supply is pointless. Then 600W is MORE than enough.

Since you have such a large budget, I would say stick to the I7 and an SSD.

If you have a need for fast fast refreshes then this is the way to go, although I have yet to feel like 60Hz is slow.

However, of your original build I'd get a 4770k and a R9 280x. Also, you can get a much cheaper mobo.
