AMD FX 6100 processor's box says 14 mb total cache & desktop windows 7; Tune Up system information tells L2 cache 128 kb.
Where is rest of the memory? Is the memory not being properly utilized ?

Hii i had found u r anser on the following question? cache memory details
There is also L(evel) 1 and L(evel) 3 cache, L1 cache is usually the largest, then L2 and L3.

There is some correction in u r anser
usuall L1 cache is embedded in the processor
L2 cache is placed either on the processor or some chip that is connected to the processor with the bus
L3 incerases the performance of bothe the L1 && L2 and doubles the speed of the RAM

As per the question
amd fx-6100 processor 3.3ghz w/ 14mb cache is not displaying its complete memory

The answer to the question is..................
The installed operating system if the architecture of the motherboard is 64-bit if he uses the 32-bit os there will be some conflict between the hardware and software resources and it will display only usable details if u would like to view the complete hardware components and their complete details connected to the device u can view them in bios......

if he want the complete usage of 14mb L3 cache he should install the recomended os as per the architecture of the motherboard and the processor
