I've been trying to find a replacement for my micro atx 300w psu and could find nothing, however, i have found athena power micro sfx psu's that have very similar dimensions to micro atx psu's. Anyways, I was wondering if the two are compatible since I need a new PSU for my new Radeon HD 7870. I am also not sure what exactly are the power requirements for the card because I would like to save around 50$ buying the 470W psu instead of the 600w. If you need specs on my comp:
CPU:phenom x6 1045t
GPU:Nvidia GT430
HDD's:2 SATA
RAM: 1 8gb Kingston Ram stick
Disc Drives: 1 LG blu ray internal drive

Hi
What case you have ?

About the HD7870
500 Watt Power Supply is required.
2X75 Watt 6-pin PCI Express power connector is required.

so running on 470 W is not what i advise you to do ...

Also if we talk about Micro ATX Case consider HD7870 card size
- is it gonna fit in ?
- is there enough cool air to cool the System and the GPU ?

My case is a stock one that comes with the GM5639E Gateway computer, the dimensions appear to accommodate the card (very tight fit) but I have read that the 7870 is very efficient at cooling, plus I don't plan to overclock.
Dimensions of case: 15.5 × 7.25 × 16.5 inches

OC or not this HD 7870 is
TDP 175W
Idle power consumption 108W
Load power consumption 295W

So cooling this to say 200W under game is not an easy task in small case like you`rs .....
Start to look for 3 x 120mm SYS FANS - front intake , back out-take , side intake

Well, I don't have the option of buying a new case but I can buy some fans like you suggested, the only problem is, I don't know where I would be able to mount them in my computer, there are several areas in my case that allow air in and I have one fan on the rear, but I'm not sure if the other areas would be compatible with fan mounting.
