5.1 through RCA to 3.5mm

i have a truetech 5.1 home theater system, and an asus xonar DS 7.1 sound card. im wondering if i can output 5.1 surround through the 3.5 and the RCA connected to the aux input on the system. thanks in advance guys

You can't send more than 2 channels through a single pair of RCA connectors. You can output 5.1 through the digital outs or through the 3 3.5mm connections to 3 pair of RCAs. Set the trutech to dolby and it will give you prologic surround sound. Set the sound card to 2 channel.
