I'd like an opinion on the build which I have planned for my first PC as well as if there are any incompatibilities or issues associated with the parts I have chosen, Thanks. My budget is around 1200 NZD and the only things I do not need are a mouse, keyboard and optical drive.

CPU: AMD FX-Series FX-6300 3.5Ghz Socket AM3+ = $156.40
Motherboard: ASRock 970 Pro3 R2.0 = $105.00
RAM: Crucial Ballistix Tactical LP DDR3 PC12800/1600MHz CL8 1x8GB = $116.15
HDD: WD Blue 64MB 1TB = $83.90
GPU: Sapphire Radeon R7 260X OC HDMI DisplayPort Dual-DVI 2GB = $207.16
Case: BitFenix Shinobi USB 3.0 (Black) = $90.51
PSU: Antec High Current Gamer HCG-520M 520W = $109.00
Monitor: Asus VE247H = $214.94
OS: Microsoft Windows 8.1 Eng (64-bit OEM) = $146.44

Full build cost: 1229.50 NZD (999.46 USD)

Go with 2x4GB of RAM for better RAM performance.

Thanks for the tip, would G.Skill Ares DDR3 PC12800/1600MHz CL9 2x4GB be ok? It also costs less then what i've got selected right now ($108.82).

So what I have so far is,

Motherboard: ASRock 970 Pro3 R2.0 = $105.00
RAM: G.Skill Ares DDR3 PC12800/1600MHz CL9 2x4GB = $108.82
HDD: WD Blue 64MB 1TB = $83.90
GPU: Sapphire Radeon R7 260X OC HDMI DisplayPort Dual-DVI 2GB = $207.16

Monitor: Asus VE247H = $214.94
OS: Microsoft Windows 8.1 Eng (64-bit OEM) = $146.44

Anything else I could do for my build?

If you are going to overclock the CPU, you'll need a CPU cooler.
