i have a dell inspiron n5010, gpu: ATI Mobility Radeon HD 550v.

during installation of need for speed rivals, the program shows tht my laptop config. is fit for operating the game.

after installation, whenevr i open the game, it displays a dialog box which shows:

DirectX function "CreatePixelShader for (null)" failed with

E_INVALIDARG("An invalid parameter was passed to the returning

function."). GPU: "ATI Mobility Radeon HD 550v", Driver: Unknown

wht shud i do now? plzz help?

Solution
The HD 550v is about 4 times weaker than the absolute minimum required graphics card for the game, which is a Radeon 3870.

I other words, your graphics card is too old to handle such a new game.

I have the same problem as siddharth. This problem started by the time I updated my graphics driver. I have NVIDIA GeForce GT 420M in xps 15 L501X. In last version i was able to play the game without any problem.
