Plan on getting a new motherboard and processor, I'm not sure which to go for though, an I5 or 8320/50 so I'd like some advice on good motherboard/processor to buy. Also the ram I have is at 1333mhz but in the future I plan on getting 1866mhz+

Ah, to give some additional info as you put above. Short answer : No. I recently upgraded to a 7870 and a 750w corsair builder series PSU(I'd like to be able to run crossfire in the future) current CPU: Fx-4100 mobo:Gigabyte GA-78LMT-S2P

Slightly over budget intel:

Another intel (honestly could just go with a non-k 4670 and a cheaper motherboard):

What are you looking to do with the pc?

EDIT: Ok. The cheaper intel motherboard isn't crossfire compatible, so bear that in mind.

Oh, and I'd say you'd be good with just an upgrade to the FX 6300.

The 4100 you have now is bulldozer architecture, which was a complete flop and performs worse than the phenoms it was intended to replace. The piledrivers (4300/4320/4350/6300/6350/8320/8350) improved on it massively.

Your current motherboard does not support processors over 95W. This means that the best you could get is an FX 6300 which is still good.

As long as your motherboard is rev. 5.x (you should be able to tell by looking at it):
rev 3.1: http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=3833#
rev 4.0: http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=4028#
rev 5.x: http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=4125#

Otherwise it doesn't really support the piledriver series of FX CPUs. Go to 'Support & Downloads' and then 'CPU Support List' to see which ones it does support.

It's the 5.x but I want a newer motherboard so that I can upgrade my ram as well I was actually looking at getting a motherboard that I cannot crossfire on because I think I'll be good with a single 7870 for a year or two.(Not that hardcore into high res/high fps) then I'll get a 8350,motherboard and a set of 1866 or 2133 8gb ram for around 250-300(hopefully)

It's ok, although I don't see why you wouldn't go with a cheaper 8320 which is just an 8350 clock lower at stock (which you can overclock easily) and a nicer motherboard.

That motherboard isn't good for overclocking, and it doesn't have full sli support.

Yeah, I'd say so. The M5A99X is really great (regret not getting one myself!). DOn't worry about overclocking (if you are worried), there are a bunch of good guides around. Including this:

Yeah I was looking at some of the same. The problem is those tall heatsinks it has, it might be a problem with the Hyper 212 EVO because its a large air cooler.

Something like this would definitely work. http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/part/kingston-memory-khx16c9b1bk28 since it doesn't have the added height of the extra design/heatsinks. Although there's probably better deals, I just picked some out as an example.
