I'm getting an r9 270x and I planned on getting a amd Athlon II x4 750k with it as the combo was on an Austin Evans video. Apparently this would cause a bottleneck how bad would it be and would an amd a10 6800k 4.1 ghz suffice? Would it be worth the extra $40? Thanks!

With the Athlon II X4 750K paired with a r9 270x there will be a little bottleneck present dependant on game if the processor is kept at stock speed. It runs equivalent to a Phenom II X4 955 or a Core 2 Quad Q9550 in gaming which is not bad by any means. A overclock to 4.0Ghz would put it at almost the same speed as the AMD A10 6800K as their based off the same "Trinity" chip family it just hasn't got the integrated GPU. I'd say push that processor to 4.0Ghz+ and this will eliminate your bottleneck by a fair amount and use the $40 for a good cooler.
