Mono speaker out of IBM motherboard into newer motherboard

So I took a compact mono speaker out of a "mono out" 2 pin plug and I'm wondering how I can reuse it. My intentions were to use it with an Asus motherboard. Now if there are no 2 pin "mono out" on the motherboard, I simply can't use it huh? I can't use the SPDIF out or anything of the sort?

I guess you could use it...but not very easily, and the method I'm thinking of may or may not even work. But, if you were to take an audio output and solder the rings onto your pins, you might get some audio out.

that was my only thought. and I don't want to do that, in case something bad happens. can't afford the down time lol.
