Hey guys !

I am planning to start a live streaming channel on Battlefield 4, nothing too professional, only 720p@30ips.
I currently own 2 computers, a gaming rig and laptop both of relatively good quality.

I'd like to use a capture card to record what's on my first computer to the laptop and then livestream from there.

My question is simple : Is this what I'm looking for ?

Desktop pc's mobo is MSI Z77-G43 Gaming which has enough PCI-E but I don't know if I should use PCI-E or HDMI ?

Thanks for your answers!

why do you want to capture from your pc by a capture card to your laptop when you can record your desktop with a program like fraps or shadowplay?
If u are into livestreaming you should check out xsplit, it's more advanced than fraps/shadowplay

Because softwares tend to use a lot of CPU and make it unplayable in higher quality. Using a capture card fixes this problem and using a second computer makes the stream much more customizable than just using the capture card.

I just want to be sure I'm not buying something that doesn't work the way I think it does

If u have a gtx 6 or 7 series it can record with a program called shadowplay. Shadow play doesn't use cpu rescources because it uses the build in H.264 chip to captures stuff (kinda like a capture card)
OT: do you want a capture card PCI or is a external capture card ok aswell?

why would that be? it can record anything with a hdmi just like the one you linked. the input in the capture card is mini-hdmi but that doesn't matter as it comes with a hdmi to mini-hdmi cable

Well, thanks for your answers, I've been doing a little bit more of research and asked a guy I know used multiple monitors and capture card for streaming, just like me.
He explained me everything I wanted to know and now I'm ok

Thanks for everything, have a nice day :)
