Hi there,

I currently have this type of RAM in my computer.

I am looking at getting some more RAM in my PC, however I was wondering if it is possible to use the other colours of this make of RAM instead of white, and still function. I know that you cannot mix and match RAM, but if the only difference is colour surely there is no reason for it not to work?

Below are the links to the other colours.

BLUE ---- http://tinyurl.com/p43pahx

Any help will be greatly appreciated

Solution
The "blue" will work, but the "black" will not. The timings on all are the same as is the speed, but the black is 1.35v and the others are 1.5.

Never a good idea to mix sets of DRAM, might be problematic and here even more so - you show as having the White set which is a low voltage set (1.35) while the options available (Blue and Black) are both 1.5, if mixing it aften takes an addition + 0.05 to the DRAM voltage to stabilize which would push your LV whites to to about 1.55 (to equal the plus ) .05 the black or ble might need, while they might play, that much to low voltage might cause heat build up which could be a problem (and again - that's if the sets even play together, of which there is no guarantee)
