So, today I'm getting a PC with gtx760, 8gb ram, fx-6300

I've done a lot of research and I've decided to OC the fx-6300 to catch up with the gtx760, but I need to know 2 things, will this cooler do or any cooler like this one do?

Cooler Evercool HPFA-10025EA AMD Buffalo

and the other thing is... I don't want to spend a lot of money on the mobo, I'm getting a cheap one, but how do I know if it will handle the OC?

Solution
Here is a database of AMD motherboards that will tell you whether or not they recommend overclocking, based on how many phases their VRM has, and whether or not it has a heatsink: http://www.overclock.net/t/946407/amd-motherboards-vrm-info-database

That cooler looks questionable as to whether or not it can handle a serious overclock, it's fairly small, has only two heatpipes, and is cooled by a 100mm fan. You'll probably want at least a Xigmatek Gaia or Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO.

If you want to overclock, you need a good stable motherboard (= more expensive). Actually, I don't think you need to overclock your CPU. Maybe, you'll get 7 FPS more, but is it worth it? The FX 6300 shouldn't bottleneck the GTX 760.

Thanks for that Calculatron, really helpful link. Bookmarked. :D

I think the OP's question has been answered - you need a nice cooler and a stable motherboard.
Even at stock speeds the 6300 is great (same performance as my 8320 at stock, slightly better in fact). Even at stock mine played everything well.
