Hello, wondering is anyone can offer me any insight...

I have 8GB Ram, i5-2500K (3.30ghz/3301mhz), and AMD 7990.

My friend has near-identical setup and he scores an average of 70/80fps on BF4 on ultra, I average about 50fps - which is barely different than my 7970 I had previous. Any ideas why? All other games also seem to perform the same as my 7970 (Crysis 3 being one of them). I know bottle-necking seems to be a common issue with BF4 but my friends processor is also an i5 (and his is 3ghz! A little less than mine...)

Any idea on how I can access the potential of my card? Any help would be appreciated (though please no wild speculators)... THANKS!

Solution
1. what is your monitor res?
and your friend monitor res..?
if you using higher resolution, then there's no doubt that your fps is slower than your friend..

2. Do you both use the same game setting..?
Different game setting can cause huuugee impact on fps..

3. what is your psu..?
insufficient psu can cause some lagging and slower fps..

4. All other games seems perform the same..?
Turn off the vsync and update your driver to the latest..

Thanks for responding.

1. Both 1080p.
2. Both Ultra.
3. Corsair GS800 (sufficient?)
4. I am up to date with identical driver as friend.

gs800 is sufficient..

well, this is weird..:D

you said about "near identical"...so there's must be something different about your setting and your friend set up..what is it..?
Only processor clock which is your friend slower than you, or something else..?

It is weird! The only difference I can think of is his mildly inferior CPU, and that's it! ... A tad annoying I may add (unhappy face)
