Well, my computer is emachine 370 and I look for it on the gateway/emachines driver site but I cannot find it. Can I turn it on from IDE Mode to ACHI in BIOS?

Yes. You see, I'm upgrading my slow PC because my Maxtor Hard disk is so fragmented it's become impossible to use. Thanks for all your help, I now know how to install TRIM in Linux Fedora. I know SSDS use SATA connectors and my motherboard uses PATA so I'm going to buy a PATA to SATA adapter. But yeah, my pc is so slow: the processor speed is 1.80 GHZ. However, I don't particurarly want to pay out for an Intel Celeron socket 1155 and an Asrock motherboard because I don't see how it's gonna increase performance. Thanks so much fo all your help!

Can't you use an adapter? I'm not really intrested in my issue right now. I can't use XP anyway since it doesn't support TRIM.

No that's not it. That's for external use only and I want an internal SATA connector/adapter like a PATA to SATA adapter is. However, I DID find a Dynamode one on PC World.com that looks better and provides you withh SATA ports. This is an internal card.
