Hello all,
Not too long ago I bought a 64gb Crucial V4 SSD for my laptop thinking it would definitely be an upgrade to the old 120gb 5400rpm drive. At first the drive worked perfectly, but now it seems to constantly be accessing for about 5-10 minutes from startup which is causing the entire laptop to run excessively slow. After this period of time the laptop works fine and runs at the speed I would expect from an SSD.
I have looked on the resource monitor to check to see what was using all of the read/write on my disk, and thinking it was Microsoft Security Essentials causing me problems, I changed my antivirus software. Alas, my problem did not go away.
I was wondering what might be causing this to happen to my drive... could it be faulty/worn out? Or is there something I have missed.
My laptop is running in AHCI mode in the bios.
Many Thanks,
Matt
