Hey guys looking for some advice,or any information at all to get pointed in the right direction. I have been a console gamer my entire life but recently decided to jump into the world of a PC gamer and build my own computer. My goal is to have a computer I can run sound through my Sony receiver and Klipsch surround, and have video on my Samsung 55" LED TV. I would like to use HDMI to make the connections, I guess my question is wondering if this is possible or do I need an actual monitor? Also if this is something I can do what mobos/video cards/sound cards should I be looking into? From what I have read about games I play i think I would like to have a Nvidia video card so far I have looked at the GTX 780? Really any information will help, thanks in advance guys!

look at your tv spec and user guild for the video pc input max that it can take. some older tv cant do that high of a video output from a computer. newer tv logic boars can do 1080 from a pc. all you need is a hdim cable and if your reciver has digital audio input port. pick up an asus or soundblaster sound card with the digital audio output port.
