She has a GT 630. After about 5 minutes of being on Final Fantasy XIV, her GPU temperature is 88c, even with the fan set to 70%. Should she raise it up to max fan speed?

Also, she just dusted it out thoroughly, and it didn't help at all. She cleaned all of the fans and everything. We've been trying to figure out this problem for a good month or two, but to no avail. If anyone has any suggestions, that would be great.

Solution
Higher settings and resolution generate more GPU heat, but not 88c. That's way too much.

I am out of ideas, if anyone thinks of anything feel free to comment :ange:

PS : actually the last thing that I could think of is a faulty GPU, since this has been happening for a while...

No, she just used canned air. She didn't physically touch any of the components. Right now while not playing anything, the GPU is at 41c. She said she sets it to manual because when it's on auto, the fan jumps to 90% and she's afraid the fan will break down.

There's an image of her idle temps.

Edit: http://i.imgur.com/CnZtvg2.jpg Here's the temps while playing Final Fantasy XIV. To me, everything looks fine except the GPU.

Yeah, beside the GPU's temp everything else seems normal to me too.

It's quite a rare thing for a fan to break, so maybe she should do a test with the fan set on auto. Also, did she install new GPU driver month ago (before this started to happen)? There have been reports of drivers causing GPUs to overheat.

No new drivers. Apparently it's been doing this for a while now. Another thing, she plays in 1080p. I know the GT 630 doesn't handle 1080p gaming that well. Could that be the reason? Just kind of going through everything at this point since we can't figure out why it's running so hot. I can't imagine 1080p causing that much of a heat issue, though...
