Myself and my friends have had a look at the new consoles and decided they are really just overrated pc's. We have decided to swap to pc. We want to build a pc that would out-last the consoles. Our budget is 815 and a maximum of 1020 dollars.

Any help of system layouts would be great.

Build your own!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's really simple. A lot of it is common sense. If it doesn't fit in that slot, then you're probably using the wrong slot. Almost every cable can only be plugged into it's corresponding slot.

Also, there are tons of videos on youtube that can teach you how to build a computer that are very useful for first timers.

From the first guy that answered, don't get something that crossfires or SLI's unless you plan to, also don't get an i7 as they are overrated, get a i5, water cooling, then OC it ;D
As GPU (formally known as Graphics Card) if you are for budget I'd get an AMD card, but the GTX 780 or 760 are good, also look at AMD Radeon HD 7950 or their R9 series
