http://www.bestbuy.com/site/gamer-xtreme-desktop-8gb-me...$abcat0501000&cp=1&lp=14#tab=specifications

Sorry for not listing specs in the post, I just thought it would be easier for everyone to view them on the site. I know that buying a pre-built is a huge nono. But I am having trouble building a decent rig in a $600-$700 range. Also, what can I expect from the PC listed above on games like skyrim, or battlefield? Any advice or tips is hugely appreciated. Thanks in advance!

As vmN suggested. The graphics card is by far ahead of the one in the pre-built. Not to mention that all of the parts are quality. One thing you missed out was a copy of windows though.

the FX-8320 is hardly a better CPU, a cheaper CPU? yes, would you see a difference in gaming with that video card? probably not but not a better CPU in any professional recommendation (idiot fan boy maybe)

The 8320 is better than the i5-4430 in many terms.
And please dont call me a fanboy, as i would know a thing or two about cpu.
I recommend what fits the budget and their needs.
And you would notice the difference from the 7770 to 280x(7970)

1. you are a fanboy as proven by your answers
2. ergo your knowledge of CPUs is fanboy rhetoric and nothing else
3. making "I recommend what fits the budget and their needs" a laughable statement

Dude, what are you trying to prove. I myself have the 4770k, and it's the beast.
General you wanna go with the >$1000 = AMD, as here you would focus more on the GPU.

2: Shall we start talking about the difference between AMD and intels cpu architecture.
in short: amd is cutting egdes to get moar power, haswell is almost a masterpiece(from the architecture point of view).
3: I dont get it, you get more power for the buck, which really is the point on budgetbuilds.
I would rather have a 8320 + 280x than core i5 4670k + 7870.
as you would benefit more from the better GPU than a better CPU in gaming.

I know PC Part picker is the ideal site to use, but I am sort of worried about the whole building process. Would someone like myself, who knows little about how to build a PC, be able to build one by using a video? I have created a few decent rigs with part picker. The whole inexperience thing is really the only factor holding me back.

Everyone has a first time. ;)

It really is like lego for adults, the only thing you need to watch out for is static and that's hardly a problem with modern components. You just plug things in and they only fit in one way.
