Hey Guys,

I know you get this alot here, asking which is the best graphics card to get etc, so im going to keep this pretty specific.

Im looking to purchase a new GPU, as soon as possible (tomorrow if i get some good answers) for an update to my current GPU, Radeon HD 6870 with a Dell 1000w PSU (it came with the PC)

I currently have a Intel i7 4930k with 16gb of Ram, cant remember the exact make with an Asus P9x79 LE Mobo.

My price range is around £250 - £300, ill go £20 higher or so if its really realllly worth stretch.
But it has to be really worth it, a difference that i can truly notice. I dont mind either NVidia or AMD.
I will mostly be using the card for creating 3D artwork for video games etc, so real time rendering is important more so than rendering over time, so ill be using 3dsmax/Maya/Blender with Zbrush, photoshop, Unreal development kit, Unity, Cry engine etc.

Of course i want it to game well as well but mostly for work use. (i do know about workstation graphics card but i also know they really arent amazing for real time work in engine)

Any advice would be great guys, thanks so much!

Sorry for the late reply, I hope it's not too late. It mainly depends on preference. Both are great cards, I currently run a 7970 Ghz and the 280X is a remake of the same card and I love it. You would only notice a real difference on games that use a lot of VRAM.
