If I had the SaberTooth Motherboard Would I be able to SLI the GTX 690 and GTX 770? Should I get a Liquid Cooling System?

Please Help!
Thanks:)

Solution
Oh ok then, this makes it easier for us and you. As long as you keep the one monitor and it isnt 4k that 770 is plenty. If you still want more performance you can SLI a second 770 in there down the line.
it's possible but you would not notice the speed difference - might even cause it to run slower. the 690 is already a beast of a gpu, pairing it with a 770 in sli is like adding a 3rd weal on chopper or harley.

liquid cooling is not as easy to setup properly as it sounds.

unless you need a reason for it (too loud or too hot temps) dont bother. "if it works dont fix it" i say.

and i think it works, i dont know of any games you cant currently play maxed out even on a 4k monitor

You can run two card in a single system, but it wont be SLI. One will be the main card (690) and one will handle Physx(770). Normally the card does it all by itself, and AMD has the CPU do the Physx calculations. If you could SLI them (which you cant) hypothetically it would increase performance about 40% with those cards.

Nope, has to be the same card.

So If I were to get two 770's would it perform faster than a 690? Nvidia of course.

SLI 770s would push out more performance slightly, but also draw more power and put out more heat. If you can supply them and get the heat away they will be the performance leader here.
I would recomend SLI the 4GB models to get more out of your build.
A note here, unless you have more than 3 monitors or some at 4k, SLI 770 4GB is not needed as of yet.

I'm just trying to get performance. I only use one monitor, haha

Isn't the 770 just a rebranded 680 which is half of 690? so where is the 40% estimate coming from?

he has a 690, it's already overkill for any game running at the moment on any monitor on any res/detail. again... why do you need more power?

SLI does not add the performance of 2 cards together. So two identical cards, such as two 770s would have about 70-80% the performance of 1.
So since you cant SLI a 690 and a 770, nobody knows the actual numbers, but by using that logic of losing performance, the hypothetical SLI should gain that much, wont know unless its done, so we wont know.

Im not sure he has the 690 already, as its not stated that he does. But if thats true, keeping the 690 would be the best bet.

yep, missread, didnt know we're in what if's land...
