Just browsing a ton of files in details view on win explorer while i accidentally clicked the right arrow key and it highlighted the next detail for example the file type and another click will go to the date and so forth.

I was thinking if what's the function of this. Got curious because it highlights every kind of details like for example "Text Document " then it will go to the date then size. thanks

It serves no function other than as a horizontal scroll to the next column when the window isn't large enough to show everything. It's an alternative to scrolling with your mouse if, for example, the mouse packs up and you don't have replacement to hand.

The "down" and "up" arrows will scroll as well, vertically up and down, if the window doesn't show everything top to bottom.

It's possible to navigate your way around Windows entirely with the keyboard if you have to (if you know which keys to press) though it's not nearly as intuitive or as quick.
