To start off I have an asus p8z77-v mobo. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

It has 2 pcie 3.0 at x16/x0 or x8/x8.
It also has a pcie 2.0 at x4.
I'd like to put my second 670 in the other pcie 3.0 but it is too close to my power supply to fit. Could I put it in the pcie x4 and still have the same performance as if I put it in the pcie 3.0? Thanks.
Edit: The specs say PCI Express 2.0 x16 - 1 (@x4)
Confused by this....

No. The power of the graphics card is too high for a PCIE x4, those are for higher end audio setups, for things like surround sound.

How is it too close in the 3.0 slot but not the 2.0 slot? The 2.0 slot is the black one on the bottom.

Looking at the newegg picture of the overhead view of my board, it is labeled and lists the pcie slots. The top two (blue and white) are listed as pcie 3.0 and the bottom black one is listed as pcie 2.0. The picture conflicts with the actual labeling on the physical board itself. It shows the top one (blue) as 3, the middle (white), and the bottom (black) as 3.0. I hope the newegg picture is right because that means I'll be able to fit the 2 cards and have enough bandwidth. The newegg picture also seems more logical.

Yeah. Thanks for your response. I just realized the labeling on my mobo is wrong. Very odd actually. I looked at my board a million times and I'm 99% I'm not misreading it. Newegg product pictures to the rescue! :p

The cards would go in the 3.0 slots =x8/x8 so yes you can sli the 670s :)
