Flash Bios failure

As in my previous thread, I was asking for help on whether or not I was doing the bios flash properly.

Now, it seems, I was not doing it right, or something has gone wrong, because my attempts to flash my bios have come up with "No valid Adapter could be found! Video BIOS not updated!"

What am I to do, now? This isn't working and I cannot plug in the card without my computer failing POST, and that means I cannot have it in, now, I do not think. Would I have to plug in the card while the computer is running to flash this, and if so, that sounds risky.

Thanks, in advanced, for the help.

No. Never plug in hardware to the motherboard or even TOUCH the motherboard while there is power. Always completely disconnect power before even opening case.

Try moving your HDMI cable to the on-board video instead of the card. Makes sure you have reconnected the power to the card, too as this will cause the PC not to post.

Reply back once you try this.

The DVI-I is in the onboard, and it never passes POST when the card is being powered. That is my issue. With no USB or working disk drive to flash the BIOS at startup. 5770, as long as it is powered, will not allow my computer to startup.

You might have waited more than 4 minutes for someone to answer your question ;)

Why exactly did you want to flash a 5770's BIOS anyway? There is always a risk of bricking something when you flash it. Looks like you found that out the hard way. It's not something you should even try without knowing exactly how.

The card was bricked in the first place. it slowly started to fail POST if I tried to start it up as soon as it was reset or powered down. Then, eventually, it just failed POST constantly afterward. Now that it is failing POST instantly, I want to flash the BIOS in hopes of a last ditch effort to fix the card before just replacing it, just incase the card isnt busted.

Got ya. Really a very small chance of saving a card on the way out though. If it's dying it's dying for a reason.
