Im planning to buy a Gaming desktop for 50000inr without monitor. I have a confusion between alienware and my own build. If I build my own ,will i be able to get more than alienware x51 {i5 processor one}

Solution
Its says to pick up a CPU according to your budget and when u have a budget of 1000 USD ..you dont buy a i3.... Also if you will take a look no one recommends i3 for gaming ... If you wanna go for a budget build everyone prefers a Amd Fx 6300 or 6350... The 3D mark 11 results show graphic processing.... So it does matter.. The real world performance of i5 is way more than i3 in any case !

I would recommend you to build your own PC rather than getting the Alienware... Alienware are excellent but not on a tight budget.. You will be able to build a pretty good gaming PC with similar kind of cash ..

What do you prefer Amd build or intel build ? Also do u shop from flipkart or local shops ?

Build your own. It will be more powerful for less price.

I would strongly recommend you to buy from amazon.com with credit card. You will get about 20% more perfomance because hardware is much expensive in India so you will have to buy cheaper products. amazon.com will ship abroad products so it will be cheaper as its much less expensive abroad.
So what type of links for build do you want from India? (flipkart, snapdeal) or amazon.com(much cheaper and better)

Here is my recommendation.. i would not advise you to go for an i3 processor because they are of no use for gaming ! Also no need for a SSD on a tight budget !

CPU : Intel i5-4570 Haswell 3.2Ghz

Motherboard : Gigabyte H87M-D3H Motherboard

RAM : 2x4GB DDR3 Kingston Hyper X Blue1600Mhz

HDD : WD Blue WD10EZEX 1 TB

GPU : Sapphire AMD/ATI HD 7850 1GB GDDR5

PSU : Corsair VS550

Keyboard & Mouse : Logitech G100 Gaing Combo

Case : Cooler Master K281 Mid Tower

It will be a little bit over 50k.. but worth it

Under 50 k

CPU : AMD Fx-8320 3.5Ghz Eight Core

Motherboard : Asus M5A97 EVO R2.0

RAM : 2x4GB DDR3 Kingston Hyper X Blue1600Mhz

HDD : WD Blue WD10EZEX 1 TB

GPU :Palit GTX 660 2GB GDDR5

PSU :Corsair VS550

Keyboard : Logitech K230 Wireless Keyboards

Mouse : Lenovo N50 Gaming Wireless Mouse

Case :Cooler Master K281 Mid Case

This will cost exactly 50k... I would recommend you to go with the AMD Build as it can be easily upgraded and overclocked.. but dont overclock much as it decreases the life of the CPU ! In coming Future you can just add another 660 card for SLI and another 8 GB Ram to make it good for another 2-3 years !

My budget can be extended upto 60K and is the 3570K i5 is better or not

Yes the i5 3570K is better than an i3 3220. It will give a 2 fps increase in BF4 for a cost difference of 8000 Rs.

I dont know where did u get that misleading chart but that means that even i7 gives only 4 fps more than i3.. That is completely idiotic.. forget about i5-3570K, i have a friend with i3 3220 and it cant even match the performance of my FX 6300 in any games... Also i3 is a dual core and does not do well at all in any next gen games as they require multi cores and hyper threading.... Never buy a i3 for gaming .. my frnd recently changes it for a i5-3570K after getting pissed at it..

i5-3570k has unlocked cores so u can overclock it.. other than that i you dont wanna overclock go for 4570 as it is Haswell, also if u wanna go for 3570K u will need to change the Mobo to a Z87 chipset mobo which will further increase the cost.. My recommendation will be to stick with the i5 rig and get a GTX 660 instead of HD 7850 ...

Ok

I don't think he is going to overclock because he's a newbie

Edit: The i5 and i7 are meant for productivity . If u are doing rendering or editing stuff that happens on the cpu then it will be of use but not in gaming

Here take a look at bench-marking : i3-3220 vs i5-4570.. i3 3220 is just decent in gaming but it is still way behind the AMD Piledriver and i5.. If this guy was building a budget desktop then u could have recommended it to him but at this budget a i3 is just plain stupid..

Also here you can see that the only thing that i better in i3 is that it consumes less power ( which, NO ONE CARES) ... And if you see the 3D marks score, their is a diff of 2000 ... And i see neither of the CPU in the tables above.. They are old bench-marking of 2500k and Bulldozer processors..

OP wanted a gaming build. These benchmarks do not apply to gaming

From the same page:
"I don’t recommend upgrading your CPU unless the potential replacement is at least three tiers higher. Otherwise, the upgrade is somewhat parallel and you may not notice a worthwhile difference in game performance."

First of all 1000$ in USA != 60000 Rs. in India for tech products
For example ,
i5 3570K in USA costs 200$
http://pcpartpicker.com/part/intel-cpu-bx80637i53570k
i5 3570K in India costs Rs. 16000 in India i.e = 256.62$
http://www.flipkart.com/intel-3-4-ghz-lga1155-core-i5-3570k-processor/p/itmd99wtgqur9dhm?pid=PSRD99WSTTH4Y88G&otracker=from-search&srno=t_1&query=3570k&ref=97ef29e3-dddf-478e-b34d-8f27e8cd7b11

MSI GTX 760 HAWK in USA costs 283$
in India costs Rs. 24500 i.e. 393$

So Rs. 60000 in India is more like 715$ in USA
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Yes, no one recommends i3 for gaming
http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/budget-mini-itx-gaming-pc,3513.html

Before u start arguing with this build
http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/build-a-pc-fx-6300-overclocking,3617.html
Read the comments: The MSI 970A-G43 ATX mobo is not meant for overclocking. If u really want to overclock and push the cpu to its limits then u need a mobo of atleast Rs. 10000
Not to mention the psu could have been better.

Also since the prices of tech products drop as time passes by , I expected the FX 6300 Q3 2013 build to perform much faster than the i3-3220 Q2 2013 build

U are getting only 1% overall performance increase on stock clocks

Again i never recommended the MSI mobo.. if u will look i recommended the ASUS mobo which even i own..

Also if you will read it is clearly written that the less FPS is beig caused not due to the processor but the GPU..

Last but the least i dont need to post links because everywhere its written not to get i3 3220 for new games as almost all of them recommend 4 threads for gaming... The Op CAN AFFORD the i5 processor and HE WILL get the i5 over the shitty i3..

Now you can keep that i3 and play older games such as Battlefield 3 or you can get the i5 or 8350 and enter the next Generation of gaming.. Good Luck !

Where? Where?
The 1% overall performance increase was due to the GTX 760 over the HD 7870.

i3 has 4 threads

Pay more get more

Now this might get a bit technical. OP this is not for u.

Sorry for late reply. But you will run battlefield 4 at high settings easily with this build.
