Recently my Acer V5-552-X418 laptop has been shutting itself down constantly and would not even start if I do not plug in the power supply and I'm aware that the problem might be related to the water spill incident that happened to it a while ago :( I called Acer customer support and found out that water damage is not included in my warranty and that I'd have to pay a crap ton of money to repair it... I also tried googling but no one else seems to have the problem on this kind of laptop. PLEASE HELP! The machine has a non removable battery which makes this whole thing even more complicated! Is there a way for me to repair it myself or do I HAVE to pay a lotta money and have Acer repair it? Any help would be appreciated, THANKS A LOT!!!

If i were you, trust Acer service center. You might worsen the problem it if you fix it yourserlf.

But for what i know you should'nt open your laptop or anykind of electronics when it get in touch with water because the electronic parts will short circuit.

What you should have done first is to shut it off and let the water dissipates. there are some techniques that would taken the moist inside like putting it on bag of rice. or just let it dry in a warm room for 2 days. I think that would have fix the problem.

But for now I really think theres some malfunction on some parts of your laptop, let the professionals handle it just to be safe.
