Is A 500 watts psu compatible?

I have a radeon 6990 hd from ATI and I was wondering will my 500w power supply work with this card without causing any problems

No I recommend a 700+ watt PSU . A seasonic, antec, XFX or a corsair(not cx series) brand.

No, a Radeon 6990 requires a minimum of a 750W PSU with two 8-pin PCI-E power connectors.
