You cannot convert a PS/2 keyboard to USB by cutting off the PS/2 connector and attaching a USB cable!

You need to buy a new keyboard as your existing one is evidently faulty, or if it wasn't faulty it certainly is now that you've messed about with it's cable. Most keyboards are USB type now, but if you prefer a USB one you can still buy one online.
