This is my first attempt at overclocking, and I've been reading up and watching a lot of videos. I was wondering if anyone has overclocked using the ASRock motherboard that I can get guidance from? Are there any generic guides that suggest what parameters to tweak and which ones go hand-in-hand?

Also, there's a variety of recommendations for stability tests - so far I have:
- IBT
- LinX
- OCCT
- Prime95

Is there any guidelines about how long to run these and what would be the best ordering to detect stability issues the quickest? Also, there were claims that prime95 resulted in higher voltage draw and should not be run for Haswell - any thoughts on that?

Thanks for helping!

Most importantly, you should have a Real Temp or Core Temp program. Also, don't mess with your BCLK. Leave the BCLK at 100, or close as 100 as possible (no idea why intel brought that back for haswell). Read more guides and overclock from the BIOS, not a software program.

After years of overclocking I recommend you do Prime95 FFT test that maximizes your CPU strerss, and nothing else. Everyone has an opinion on the subject but I think IBT is unnecesary and just makes your CPU overheat majorly. I also recommend you check your event logger for WHEA errors to get a 100% stable overclock.

Keep your temps/voltages where they should be, and if you are going for a agressive overclock disable all power saving options first. Just my 2 cents.
