asus GPU tweak wont let me adjust fan. can anyone help?

Hey guys I have asus GPU tweak. now I can set voltages, clock speeds easily. so I know it works. however I can't do any manual fan control in it. I can change the slider. but when I click apply it just defaults back to 39%
has anyone else had the same isssue?

I am having the same trouble with my HD Radion 7870, I like to run the fans slightly faster to attempt to keep it as cool as possible but it is doing as you described....
