So i got lucky and was able to snag a radeon 7970 for about 200 this black friday! Problem is that when i tried to install it on my aseus P8P.. LE the mother board kept giving me a video card issue. When i booted up the computer the fans worked fine for all components so i doubt its my PSU (which is 520 W) but the motherboard still gave me a GPU error. I have no idea why though, all i did was hook up my radeon to a GPU slot, i tried both slots, put in 2: 6 wire power connectors and tried to boot. Every time, and no matter the order of connectors, or the position on the motherboard, i got the motherboards gpu error sign. I spent over 4 hours trolling forums and have no idea how to go about trouble shooting.

For my own trouble shooting i checked my own GPU, which worked fine but is now failing:see my first post, i tried different slots, 1 2 and combinations of power suply cords, and not much else. What should i do im really quite lost; this blackfriday miracle is turning into a disaster

The graphics card should of came with a disk with proprietary drivers, you'll need to install them and then get the latest drivers off the gpu manufacturer.

If it didn't you can always go to their web site and get the latest drivers without the need of a disk.
